AI Consultancy · Step one

The AI Readiness Assessment

Two weeks. Fixed fee. At the end, you know what AI should do for your business, what it will cost, and what has to be fixed first — before you've bought a single licence.

Fixed scope & fee ~2 weeks Remote-first Read-only access

What you get

Four deliverables, no padding

Everything is written to stand alone: if we never speak again, the report still tells you exactly what to do.

Data & permissions review

Where your business data actually lives, who can reach it, and the specific access problems any AI rollout would expose — with the fixes ranked by risk.

Shadow-AI usage audit

Which AI tools your team already uses (there are always some), what data flows into them, and which are fine, fixable or need replacing with a sanctioned option.

Licensing & cost estimate

What adopting AI would really cost for your headcount — Copilot licences targeted by role, alternatives compared, nothing padded.

Prioritised roadmap

Your best AI opportunities scored by payback and effort, sequenced with the security groundwork — a plan you could hand to any competent provider.

How it runs

Two weeks, door to door

Built to fit around a business that's busy — because if it needed a week of your time, you'd never book it.

Your team's total time: around four hours, spread across the fortnight.

Access: read-only, under NDA, listed at kick-off, removed at the end.

Price: fixed fee, quoted after a short discovery call — agreed before we start.

  1. 1

    Day 1

    Kick-off (45 minutes)

One call: what the business does, where time gets wasted, what you're hoping AI might do. We arrange read-only access for the technical review.

  2. 2

    Week 1

    We look under the bonnet

Permissions, data structure and current tool usage reviewed; short conversations with 2–3 team leads about how work actually flows. Your team's total time this week: about two hours.

  3. 3

    Week 2

    Analysis and roadmap

Findings written up, opportunities scored, costs estimated. We sanity-check anything surprising with you before it goes in the report.

  4. 4

    Final day

    The walkthrough

A working session, not a slide show: what we found, what to do first, what it costs, what to ignore. You keep everything, whatever you decide next.

Fit check

Who it's for — and who it isn't

A good fit if

  • You're a UK organisation with roughly 10–250 staff
  • People are asking “should we be using AI?” and nobody owns the answer
  • You'd rather spend two weeks planning than six months regretting
  • You suspect staff are already using AI tools quietly

Probably not if

  • You want someone to say yes to a tool you've already bought
  • You're looking for a build-a-chatbot-this-week project with no groundwork
  • There's genuinely no repetitive admin in the business (we've yet to meet one)

FAQ

Cost, time and access, answered

Plus the most useful question of all: what if the answer is 'not yet'?

What does the assessment cost?

A fixed fee, quoted after a short discovery call — the price depends on your headcount and how many systems you run, and it's agreed before we start. No day rates, no meter running.

How much of our team's time does it take?

Deliberately little: the kick-off call, a couple of hours of interviews spread across week one, and the final walkthrough. It's designed to run alongside business as usual, not on top of it.

Do we need Copilot licences (or any AI tools) before starting?

No — that's backwards. The assessment tells you which licences are worth buying and for whom. Buying tools first is how AI projects end up as expensive shelfware.

Is our data safe during the assessment?

We work read-only, under NDA, and nothing about your business goes into any AI tool that isn't contractually barred from training on it. The access we use is listed for you at kick-off and removed at the end.

What happens after the assessment?

Three honest options: do nothing (you keep the roadmap), implement it with us, or take it to another provider — it's written to stand alone. Most clients start with one or two quick wins from the top of the list.

What if the answer is 'you're not ready for AI yet'?

Then the report says so, with the shortest path to ready. That answer costs you two weeks instead of a failed rollout — arguably the assessment's best possible outcome.
